USDA HSI Research Activities

  • The project focuses on addressing micro-nano plastics (MNPs) in food and agricultural systems. 
  • Research topics include MNP occurrence in agricultural fields and food products, MNP transport, fate, and effects, and modeling MNP behavior.
  • Graduate students will conduct year-long collaborative research and Ph.D. students will be engaged throughout the project. 
  • Undergraduate will have summer research training at their home institutions, working on sample collection, characterization, and data analysis.
