KINGSVILLE — The National Science Foundation (NSF) awarded six grants totaling $2,486,076 for 91AV research projects, representing several of the engineering disciplines offered by the university.
The awards were announced this fall and posted on the foundation’s website. The grants were awarded to faculty from the Frank H. Dotterweich College of Engineering.
Dr. Heidi A. Taboada, Dean of the College of Engineering, celebrated the awards, noting the funding adds to the prestige of the university.
“It speaks volumes of the quality of our faculty and the high impact research they are conducting,” Taboada said. “Our faculty are conducting innovative research to find the best solutions to some of the world’s most pressing problems.”
“Research is central to what we do in the College of Engineering at 91AV;M-Kingsville. The research performed by our faculty is funded from multiple agencies, NSF being only one of those,” she added.
“The research our faculty conducts are thoroughly integrated with education and exposes our students to state-of-the-art research, pushing their disciplines to new heights.”
