CAAHEP/CoAES Accreditation
The Exercise Science Programs (Exercise Science, Exercise Science/Performance Psychology, and Exercise Science Pre-Physical Therapy) under the B.S. in Kinesiology are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP) as recommended by the Committee on Accreditation for the Exercise Sciences (CoAES).
Exercise Science Program Goals
GOAL 1: Program completers will acquire knowledge and comprehension in the exercise sciences. In addition to demonstrating broad content knowledge and comprehension, graduates will demonstrate knowledge and comprehension in the specific areas of health/fitness assessment, exercise prescription/implementation, counseling/behavioral strategies, and legal/professional issues and management.
GOAL 2: Program completers will be able to successfully apply their exercise science-related knowledge in a practical professional setting. Specifically, graduates will, in a professional internship setting, apply their exercise science-related knowledge, demonstrate professionalism, interpersonal skills, and the ability to cooperate, and demonstrate initiative, dependability, and enthusiasm.
GOAL 3: Program completers will be able to communicate effectively their exercise science-related knowledge in both written and verbal form.
