CCAPS National Comparison Report 2023-2024

Biennial Review

The objectives of the biennial review, as identified by the U.S. Department of Education, include determining the effectiveness of and implementing any needed changes to the Drug and Alcohol Prevention Policy and all alcohol and drug prevention programs at TAMUK, as well as ensuring that the disciplinary sanctions for violating standards of conduct are enforced consistently. This is done in compliance with the Code of Federal Regulations, 34 CFR Part 86, or the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act.

JED's Comprehensive Approach

JED Comprehensive Approach for Strategic Planning

JED’s Comprehensive Approach is drawn primarily from the overall strategic direction of the United States Air Force (USAF) Suicide Prevention Program, a population-based strategy to reduce risk factors and enhance protective factors for suicide (Knox et al., 2003). The JED Comprehensive Approach is also based on what is known about how to decrease risk factors and increase protective factors for mental health and suicide among adolescents, college students, and the general population; an understanding of the student mental health problems that campuses face; and existing recommended practices.
