I grew up and went to college in Southern California where I was part of the mid-90s industrial-goth club scene in Hollywood. I moved to the heart of New Jersey (pronounced: joy-zee) for graduate school, then to the frozen shores of Lake Ontario in Rochester, New York for my first academic job. I managed to dig myself out of the snow, and I’m pleased to be in the sun-drenched Great State of Texas. From 2017 until 2024, I was the department chair for the department of History, Political Science, and Philosophy, with Criminal Justice. My PhD is from Rutgers University in 2007. I specialize in epistemology and applied ethics, with additional interests in logic, metaphysics, philosophy of language, political philosophy, poker, and video games.
