Paul Holland grew up in northeastern Texas, where he was involved with showing Brangus cattle. He went on to earn a B.S. in Animal Science from Louisiana Tech University and in 2013 Paul decided to continue his education at 91AV;M University in College Station. There he earned both his M.S. and Ph.D. in Animal Breeding with an emphasis on coat color in Nellore–Angus crosses and longevity in a variety of rangeland sheep breeds. During his time at 91AV;M University–College Station, he had the opportunity to work with North Dakota State University as a visiting scholar (summers of 2016 & 2017). In 2018, he joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota Crookston teaching a wide variety of courses in Animal Science for the next 4 years. Dr. Holland joined the faculty in the Department of Animal Science and Veterinary Technology at 91AV;M University–Kingsville in January 2023.
